Shardeum Updates: Week 22

Here’s a recap of what happened previous week at Shardeum:

Tech

Last week, we added improvements to memory and processing performance in order to prepare for the Liberty 1.1 release. We also conducted tests with node rotations on, and made some bug fixes. Moreover, we implemented a new protocol in order to send data from the validator to archivers efficiently. We’re also working on a faster block production time on the validator. 

Business

The first Shardeum foundation council members meeting is scheduled for 1st June 2022. The Foundation Council comprises:

1. Nischal Shetty (Foundation Board President)
2. Omar Syed (Foundation Board Member)
3. Markus Spillmann (Foundation Board Member)

The members will meet to discuss and approve initiatives through circular resolutions that promote and benefit the Shardeum ecosystem. We have also initiated onboarding and distribution of ECA (Early Contribution Agreement) to early investors from the Shardeum seed round. Moreover, Greg from the team attended the Permissionless event to meet Shardeum’s investors and build relationships with strategic ecosystem partners.

Marketing & Comms

Last week, we published a document called “Democratized moderation” for the community to review, a “Nominate a Contributor” form and added the “Contributor” role to more members. We also added new channels on Discord, created a Revue profile to share our newsletter via Twitter, and worked on a few podcast partnerships. We also planned for a college webinar, and are now evaluating speakers who can conduct the webinar. We’re also working on a referral program and evaluating a tool for the same. We also worked on content for landing pages, blogs, release notes, weekly newsletter, and Quora/Reddit content development and management is planned currently.
